Dedicating her life to sharing the good tidings from the friendly citizens and responsible merchants of her quality first-ring suburb, Miss Richfield 1981 is the creation of Russ King, who was born and raised in Richfield, Minnesota.
Miss Richfield 1981 has been recognized as one of the Twin Cities most creative artists and named a runner-up for "Artist of the Year" by the StarTribune Newspaper of the Twin Cities. She has made numerous appearances throughout the Twin Cities, including the Walker Art Center, Illusion Theater, Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, and an Orchestra Hall debut as a featured soloist in Doc's Summer Party Mix with Doc Severinsen and the Minnesota Orchestra.
King also proved that the character isn't only a hometown girl, when Miss Richfield 1981 participated in the Toyota Comedy Festival in New York City with a full-length cabaret show at HERE in Soho, and a short stand-up routine at Catch A Rising Star. Miss Richfield now travels on a regular basis with Atlantis Events, a Hollywood-based company specializing in Gay and Lesbian resort vacations and cruises. There the character continues to be a hit with people from all over the country, who appreciate her suburban humor and home-style sensibilities.
